The expert jury at the Montalcinese producer consortium gave it the highest rating – five stars. Sangiovese, the sole basis for the Brunello, is also a grape variety which responds exceptionally well to individual vintages and diff erent terroirs.

to the sales figures: 9,5 million bottles were produced and sold worldwide of the
exceptional 2010 vintage. As Patrizio Cencioni, the new president of the producer consortium, explains, marketing and promotion of Montalcino wines are thus highly important on both
old and new markets. That’s precisely why such activities are to be increased over the next few months and years. Aficionados can get a little preview in Switzerland on 10 October 2016 when winemakers will be presenting their current annata and riserva. You’ll be pleasantly surprised by the quality of the wines.
